He was one of the main helping hand of Lord Rama while rescuing Goddess Sita - the wife of Lord Ram who was kidnapped by the Demon Ravana.
The whole story is well written as Ramayana- The Indian Epic. Ramayana is based on the life of Lord Rama who is the incarnation of Lord Vishnu. The Scripture was written and composed by Maharishi Valmiki(Balmiki) and Sant Tulsidas, Thus it is known as Valmiki Ramayan and Tulsi Ramayan.
Lord Hanuman is born out of Lord Shiva to serve Lord Vishnu when he was Incarnated as Lord Rama.
Lord Hanuman Appearance resembles Monkey
Ravana because of ego and power believed that none can beat him, so he disrespected the Nandi the vehicle of Lord Shiva. Nandi Being Humble tried to make him understand that no body is less or more powerful and even one has more powers should respect all. But Ravan the Shiva Bhakt out of his Ego could not understand. Then Nandi the bull curses Ravana that he will be killed by an animal. Hanuman was born at the King of Monkeys place. Anjani and Kesari are the parents of Lord Hanuman who is also known as Vayuputra.
How He Named Hanuman and The Powers
Hanuman Possess the Great Super Powers. In the childhood only he flied to Sun and grasped it and whole world is covered by the darkness. He was hungry and thought there is red apple in the sky so he flied and ate. But all the other Gods got worried and tried to hit hanuman to save Sun. When Lord Indra the king of devas, hit hanuman by his weapon vajra, hanuman consciousness was lost and he fell onto the ground. By seeing this the god of wind, Vayu Deva got angry as he considered hanuman as his son. He stopped the wind in the universe and people animals and life got affected by this.
Lord Brahma came and sorted the matter and hanuman got the consciousness. Vayu dev started his work again. All the Gods came and gave several boons and power to lord Hanuman.
Only after this incident he got the name of Hanuman as 'Hanu' means 'chin' and when lord indra used his weapon on the child, his chin got affected thus he is named as Hanuman. Hanuman has many names like Maruti, Pawansuta, Bajrangbali, Mangalmurti, Vayuputra, Aanjaneya, Kesari nandan.
Bal Hanuman Forgetting Powers
After this event, Hanuman started using his super powers on innocent bystanders as simple prank. One day he pranked on a meditating sage who cursed Hanuman to forget his powers as he was not able to understand where to use the powers.
Hanuman Meets Lord Rama
When Lord Rama was searching Sita he reached to place where sugriva, hanuman and other monkeys were hiding because of the fear of Bali (Brother of Sugriva and king of monkeys). As Rama and Laxmana arrived, sugriva got worried thinking Bali has sent someone to kill him. He sent Lord Hanuman to know talk to them. Hanuman ji has took the form of a sage and met his beloved deity Lord Rama. Both of them felt love for each other and Hanuman took the two brothers to Sugriva. Sugriva and Ram took the vows of friendship around the fire. Sugriva promised him to help him finding the Mata Sita while Ram Ji has promised him to kill Bali and save Sugriva forever.
In search of Mata Sita and Remembering the Powers
Sugriva has sent his army in all the four directions in search of Mata Sita. He sent Hanuman along with Angad and Jaambvan to south to find the missing wife of Lord Rama. The group reached to the southmost tip of India and found the island arcoss the sea. They wanted to investigate the island Named Lanka. But the problem is to cross the sea, at that time Jaambvan reminded the forgotten powers to Hanuman and encouraging him to complete the work for Lord Rama. He reminded all the powers and crossed the big ocean in just one leap.
Here The Search Ends and Lanka On Fire - Lanka Dehen
Hanuman reached to lanka crossing all the hurdles came on the way and while entering Lanka. He Tried to find the Missing wife of his deity Lord Rama. He saw mata sita under a tree in ashok vatika. Here his search ends, and he found mata sita sitting remembering Lord Rama and tears were rolling from her eyes. He gave her the ring of lord rama which is ray of Hope for mata Sita. He destroyed the garden of ravana and killed his lots of demons and His son. Hanuman was caught up by Ravana army and brought up to the court of ravana. Rather we should say he himself wanted to meet ravana so got tied up in he ropes on his own will.There he tried to give wise advice to Ravana but as usual he didnt listen and moreover gave order to burn his Tail knowing that A monkey loves his tail. As they put the tail on fire, Hanuman with his supernatural powers extented his tail to a large amount and then with his burning tail he burnt Lanka. Whole Lanka which was built of Gold is turned into the black Palace.
From he took the ornament of mata janki as the sign and came back. Then Whole group returned to lord Rama happily as they have completed the task. Lord Rama Hugged Hanuman and Praised Him.
Ram Nam Devotion - Glory of Ram Naam
Now the whole army went to south to cross the sea and to kill the Ravana in Lanka. They got the solution of crossing the sea by building the bridge where the stone would not drowned rather stones will float. Lord Hanuman was writing the name of Lord Rama and throwing the stones in the sea. When Lord Rama started throwing the stones, stones drowned, he felt bad but at that time Hanuman told him who can float over a sea which was thrown or rejected by you. One who carries your name in the heart will cross this river and bhavsagar(the wolrd) too.
Big Battle and Sanjeevani Booti (Life saving Herb)
Lord Hanuman was fighting against Ravana to rescue Mata Sita, the battle was long and took many days, during the battle Lakshmana who was the younger brother of Lord Rama said to be the incarnation of Sheshnaag fall uncouncious and badly wounded. Lord Hanuman brought the Doctor the vaidhya from Lanka who suggested the Sanjeevani booti - the Life Giving Herb for the treatment of Lakshman, which can be found on Himalayas in the north. Hanuman was the one who went to Himalayas, but after reaching there as he could not recognised he herb so he took the whole mountain in one hand and flew to Lord Rama. Lakshman Treatment was done and he got well, Rama was happy and Praised Hanuman, the life saver of Lakshman.
Rama in Hanuman's Heart, A true Devotee
After winning the battle Lord Rama along with Mata Sita, Lakshman and other friends came back to Ayodhya. Once in the court of Rama, Mata janki -Sita ji filled with joy gave a precious necklace to hanuman as a gift. Hanuman broke the necklace deliberately and seeing each and every pearl of it carefully and finally throwing. Whole court was shocked and curious to know why he is doing this. After asking, Hanuman said I am trying to find Rama in the necklace, and I could not find Him here in these pearls so this necklace is neither useful to me nor precious to me. One court member then asked your body even has not rama in itself then why are you keeping that, throw your body away too. Then he opened his chest and all was surprised to see the Lord Rama and Sita in his heart. As he is a true devotee his name will remain immortal along with the name of ram. He is chiranjivi one who will remain on the earth till Kaliyuga.
